Conversation Tools we’ve found to work

The purpose of this site is to help you overcome shyness and nervousness in social situations, improve your conversation skills, help to improve your confidence and develop your sense of humor. We’ve been there, experienced the same frustration, and spent countless hours (and dollars) reading, researching and taking courses, before finally discovering for ourselves which techniques and products actually work.

This isn’t rocket science. If you want to affect change you won’t need Dr Phil or a team of self-help gurus. What you do need is to listen to people who used to be incredibly shy, boring, and yes maybe even painfully awkward, unfunny and dull, who’ve taken the time to figure out where things were going wrong. People like us! The things recommended here worked for us, and can work for you.

If you’ve done any research before landing here, you’ve undoubtedly found very few programs which were helpful. The majority consist of warmed-over leftovers from the last batch of formulaic, connect the dots self-help books and programs, renamed and re-branded. Here you’ll find no suggestions for psycho-babble pap which requires a PHD in Jungian Analysis techniques to get past the first chapter. Nothing boasting the healing power of colors, crystals, or leprechauns. Nothing will begin with the words inner journey, self discovery or chicken soup. No Oprah Book Club. We’re not saying these things don’t work, but from our experience you’re better off sticking with something that targets your precise needs and provides you with real, measurable results in the shortest amount of time. We prefer to save the chicken soup for lunch.

The following have actually helped and worked for us. We’re currently working on expanding this list to include book and product reviews for things that haven’t worked for us at all. Unfortunately, a case of carpal tunnel syndrome is waiting at the end of typing out that list.

These Things Work.

Learn How To Combat Low Self Esteem and Say Hello To A Happier and More Successful You. Start That Change Now.

I really like Amy Twain’s approach to dealing with self esteem issues. She sidesteps all the psychobabble, which we have tried to steer you clear of from the beginning. Amy has a clear, direct approach outlining many major factors which have a direct effect on our self esteem. She targets many common problems we face everyday, feelings of shyness, guilt, self doubt and low self worth, anxiety and many other issues, and shows us how they relate to and feed off each other as well as us. It’s well worth your time to check out the link to her book and get a much better description than I could possible give you. All in all, highly recommended.

MEN: Here’s the “REAL” Truth About How to Talk To And Pick Up Beautiful Women ANYWHERE (In the Bar, Club, Park, Store, Gym, Library, College Or Anywhere Else…) Using Simple But Powerful Words…

Okay, from that tagline you’ve probably guessed that this book just might be geared towards the male of the species. At first glance it seems like just another PICK UP HOT CHICKS NOW!! style book, and make no mistake – they aim to please their target audience. The reason it’s included in this list is because it does go a little deeper than that. One of the toughest tricks in the conversation game is to actually start one, and this book suprisingly ditches the lame pickup lines and gives valuable techniques and tips for beginning real, meaningful, conversations with strangers (who may or may not be beautuful women who instantly fall madly in love with you).

Max Matterson’s How To Be Funny

Home

I know what you’re thinking, another how to be funny book. This one is a little different than the rest. It’s written by a professional comedy writer whose main goal is to teach you how to make people laugh, with everything else coming in second. This is great if you want to get your humor chops up, sharpen your wit, and get on with the show. The benefits of confidence and conversation skills are of course discussed, but not dwelled upon. It operates more under the assumption that the majority of your problems will improve along with your sense of humor. This is a fair assumption, because it’s true!

I really appreciate the fact that Matterson stays focused and doesn’t water anything down with useless filler or poorly thought out theories. The central theme of the book is humor, he knows what he’s talking about, and delivers. To me, this is a major factor separating this work from other related programs and what gives it its strength. Personally, I found it very helpful. This book is also used as a primer for people wanting to learn stand-up. Con, there’s a section on how tongue twisters are funny. It comes with a 100% money-back guarantee, so you can’t go wrong. I highly recommend giving this a chance, you won’t be disappointed.

Conversation Fire

Conversation Fire

If you think this is a pretty dramatic name, and the headlines are just a little over the top, I agree. If you can get past that, this program contains an excellent body of work. You’ll find this information taking hold as soon as you start reading, and once you’ve finished the program you’ll have a solid understanding charisma, and how to use it.
Great small talk and conversation tips, and a very helpful method of combating nerves, shyness and anxiety. It’s also a pretty good confidence builder, if you follow the outlined excercies you should get almost immmediate results. On the con side, it’s blatantly over the top. Imagine Anthony Robbins trying to tell a Steven Wright joke. Well, maybe not that bad. And surprise, there’s a full guarantee with this one as well, are you beginning to see a method to my madness?

Hey, where did the rest of the reviews go?

We take our recommendations seriously. Because of this we decided to re-evaluate every ebook and program that was listed here on the merits of cost, content, value and projected results. We pored over them with a fine tooth comb and all reached the same conclusion – everything presented here was informative, but way overpriced, and the majority contained very similar information.

So we’ve gone back to the drawing board. Max Matterson has a great program which we still stand behind 100%. If you care to visit our bookstore we’ve organized a great collection of books on a variety of related subjects, all of which have very helpful to us. They contain real-world customer reviews to help you judge their merit. In the meantime we’re writing in-depth book reviews of our own, and testing out new programs. Very soon the re-vamped review section will be back and more vital than ever.
